As the Lunar New Year approaches, the Chinese get ready by cleaning out their homes, clearing off old debts, and preparing for their biggest and most elaborate meal of the year.  From dumplings to noodles, each ceremonial dish on the New Year’s table is imbued with significance and meaning.  Join Wai Chu, cooking instructor and co-author of The Dumpling: A Seasonal Guide, for a glimpse into this traditional celebratory meal with timeless dishes including Sticky Rice Dumplings in New Year’s Day Soup, Stir-Fried Longevity Noodles, Buddha’s Vegetarian Stew, Steamed Whole Fish with Scallion and Ginger Relish, and Pork and Cabbage Potstickers.
